Creative Sewing Teen Summer Workshop: Scrap Happy – Upcycle Denim & Fashion Industry Scraps into Zero-Waste Products and Accessories
Ages 14-18
Denim is one of the most polluting fabrics in the fashion industry, but it is also one of the most durable, which makes it the perfect fabric to upcycle.
The Scrap Happy Summer Workshop will help you give old denim a new purpose. Design simple products from existing fabrics to create original and sustainable pieces, either by changing it completely or just a little bit.
Basic sewing skills desired but not a must. If you have a sewing machine, bring it to class.
If students want to upcycle a pair of jeans they must bring a pair to the first class.
