The Ceramics Studio

The Ceramics Studio serves professional potters, beginner students, and offers youth and teen programming. The Ceramics Studio is an uplifting and therapeutic space. We have tripled the studio size and invested in new equipment making the space fully barrier free.

The Holland Area Arts Council offers a variety of ceramics classes, where participants can learn essential hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and firing techniques. The classes are taught by experienced ceramic artists and are designed for students of all skill levels. Participants will have access to a fully equipped ceramics studio, including pottery wheels, work tables, and all other necessary materials.

Ceramics Open Studio Membership

You can become a member either by taking the Ceramics 1 class for beginners or by having previous ceramics experience. If you are interested in starting a Ceramics Open Studio Membership, please reach out to helpdesk@hollandarts.org. Due to the popularity of the studio, there is often a waitlist for shelf space.

Membership Fee: $160

Membership includes a 3-month punch card, which grants you 16 hours of studio usage within the three-month period.

At our studio, please note that it is required to purchase clay from the Arts Council. We offer three types of clay for your selection. Enjoy our 15 pottery wheels, 2 slab rollers, and dedicated work surfaces with a variety of glazes. All necessary tools are provided, but you can bring your own if preferred. With four kilns available, firing and glazes are included in the membership price, allowing you to complete projects without additional fees.
