WATERCOLOR BATIK WORKSHOP Instructor: Carol Hunnes-Nielsen Watercolor batik is an amazing technique that combines painting with watercolor and melted wax. Batik creates a loose look that cannot be achieved with traditional watercolor methods. This technique will change the way you paint. It is a process of painting in alternating layers of paint and wax. The wax is removed in the final step. We will begin with a simple design to lead you through learning the process and then progress to designing your own painting. We will begin with rice paper. You will be given the opportunity to use a variety of textured and colored papers to experiment with. You will also learn how to prepare your paintings for framing with a traditional mat or floating your painting. Papers will be included. Please bring a bag lunch. A supply list will be available upon registration. Ages 16 & up • Saturday • March 30 • 10:00 am - 4:00 pm • $110 ($100) REGISTER
