Tickets: $35 per person $15 for children 10 & under
This holiday season, the Arts Council is reprising their partnership with Grand Rapids Ballet in two special performances for children ages 4 to 10 and their adult guests. The gallery will be filled with the enchanting giggles of children as they experience the magic of music, dance and storytelling.
The Nutcracker Ballet Tea is a story-time brunch in a winter fairy-tale land of ballerinas, nutcrackers and toy soldiers. Members of Grand Rapids Ballet Junior Company will dance vignettes from The Nutcracker as Attila Mosolygo, Junior Company Artistic Director reads The Nutcracker story. The performance includes high tea, delicious snacks and a box of treats for each child to enjoy.
Advance reservations are required.
Tickets for the Nutcracker Ballet Tea go on sale on September 30. Admission for the 3:00pm performance is $35 per ticket. Children 10 and under get in for $15 each. Discounted tickets to Grand Rapids Ballet performance of The Nutcracker are also available to those who purchase tickets to The Nutcracker Ballet Afternoon Tea.
Tickets to Grand Rapids Ballet’s The Nutcracker December 1-3 and 8-10 at DeVos Performance Hall may be purchased online at grballet.com or by calling 616.454.4771 x10.
Collaboration makes this event truly special. Partnerships with Grand Rapids Ballet, who provides the dancers in costume, and the Holland Youth Orchestra, who will play musical interludes, makes this an experience of live performance for young children. Other generous sponsors including Tip Toes have made it possible for us to provide scholarship tickets to the Children’s Advocacy Center, Goodwill Industries, the Boys and Girls Club, Art for All and the Center for Women in Transition. The Arts Council wants to ensure that every child can experience the magic of live performance.
We would also like to thank our generous sponsors who help make this event possible.
Children live in a world of imagination and play. The line between reality and pretend has not yet been draw. They involve themselves in performance physically, mentally and emotionally, and so the Arts Council is excited to expose the very young to live performance featuring other young performers.
