Musical Beginnings
Instructor: Mari Jo Koedyker
Musical Beginnings is an early childhood music class that offers a musical experience for young ones infant to 5 years old. Each 45 minute class is designed for children and parents to interact together through movement and song. Research shows that music is learned when children are exposed to a wide variety of music before they can create it themselves. Musical Beginnings provides these opportunities in a playful, enjoyable environment for parent and child! Discounts for siblings.

Teen Potter’s Wheel Camp
Instructor: Jesse Vanderband
Explore the art of the potter’s wheel this summer! In this 3-day camp, students will learn how to create art on the potter’s wheel, then explore fun underglaze techniques including carving, sculpting, stenciling, and painting on their work. After the camp, student’s work will be glazed with clear top glaze and made available for families to pick up.

7 Elements of Art
Instructor: Anya Boekestein
Create art using different mediums and explore the 7 elements of art: color, line, shape, form, space, value and texture! This camp is geared towards kids ages 8-12.

Music Makers Summer Camp
Instructor: Rebecca Wierks
School age students will make homemade instruments, play real instruments, sing, dance, compose music, and continue note reading and basic music theory in this developmentally appropriate and playful music class.  Materials will not be shared during class, and social distancing will be practiced.

India Ink Etching
Instructor: Barbara Carlson 
Explore the use of color and texture by designing a whimsical landscape
which will then be etched with patterns to reveal a unique and beautiful etching.

Wheel Thrown Pottery For Kids Session 1
Instructor: Eileen LaMore
For ages 9-12
In this 4 day ceramics workshop, Eileen will teach the basics of wheel-throwing, decorating and painting a ceramic piece made with low fire clay. All materials included and no previous experience required. Students will learn the following:
  • Assisted exploration of wheel thrown techniques
  • Clay decoration 
  • Painting and getting pieces ready to be fired
Recommendation: Bring an apron or oversized shirt to protect clothing. Students should be able to finish between 2 and 4 pieces.  These pieces will be fired after they are completely dry.  Instructor will send an email when they are ready to be picked up.

Classic Cartooning Camp
Instructor: Wade Gugino 
Start to finish cartoon strip development from characters, to expressions, to action and posing, to backgrounds and professional layout. We have fun each day exploring everything it takes to make our own comic strips and panels...and then we make some of our own and get them printed in a treasury!

Explore the Pour
Instructor: Barbara Carlson
Using acrylic paint and a few additives, we will explore the popular process of pour and painting. Each day we'll try new pour techniques using unexpected household items. The results of pour painting are stunning, colorful, abstract pieces worthy of hanging on any wall. This camp is hands on and messy; you'll want to send your child in "paint clothes" each day.

Create! 102: Feeling Fallish

Draw inspiration from the changing of the seasons to really harness life in its purest form.
Experience en plein air painting/drawing to create a from-life tree portrait! Use a combination of un-realistic/realistic color, learn about shadows and lighting and how to capture a bit of nature.  I mean isn’t everyone’s favorite season Fall?

Stick Flip Animation

Every week during the school year we explore new drawing exercises together with other kids who love to draw! Cartoons, comics, card making, t-shirt making, posters, graphic stories, still life, color theory and so much more.  This program is held offsite.  Registration not handled by the Arts Council.
