November 20, 1:00PM and 3:00PM Now in its second year - The Nutcracker Sweet Ballet Tea is a story-time event in a winter fairy-tale land of ballerinas, nutcrackers and toy soldiers. Uncle Drosselmeier will narrate the story of the Nutcracker with dancers from Grand Rapids Ballet School's Junior Company performing vignettes from the ballet. Families will enjoy a delicious "high tea" in the midst of the magic. This event is perfect for children of all ages. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

November 18, 19 & 20 As part of their Nutcracker Suite of holiday events, the Arts Council hosts a three-day Artisans Market in November. The market will feature the hand-crafted work of carefully selected artists and artisans on display in the Mainstreet Gallery, Lievense Gallery and the Studio. Here you'll find beautiful, unique ornaments, ceramics, glassware, jewelry, original art, clothing and accessories to purchase as gifts for friends, family or yourself.

Sneaky Mice Workshop
Formerly called Sneaky Elves, this open-house style event gives kids the chance to participate in the gift giving. On Saturday, December 19 and Monday, December 21 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, parents can drop the kids off and sneak away to downtown shopping or coffee while kids make and wrap gifts for their families. What they create is a secret… so don’t try to peak! All children are welcome, but kids under 5 need an adult to stay and play. $15 per child. No preregistration.
